PROHEART Tablets, when used as directed will safely and effectively prevent infection of you dog with heartworm  (Dirofilaria immitis).

PROHEART Tablets prevent heartworm infections. They are not a treatment for existing heartworm disease. Before starting any preventative programme, including monthly administration of PROHEART Tablets, it is recommended that dogs are checked by a veterinarian for heartworm infection. This is to safeguard their own health and to avoid them acting as a reservoir of infection for other dogs.

PROHEART Tablets have a wide margin of safety when used as directed and may be used in all breeds of dogs, including Collies. They are safe to use in stud dogs and breeding bitches.

PROHEART Tablets are given according to the bodyweight of the dog to provide a minimum dose rate of moxidectin of 3mcg/kg moxidectin at monthly intervals. This will eliminate the tissue stage of heartworm and prevent larvae from developing into the harmful adult worms.

Mosquitoes are a heartworm vector. In many areas of Australia, mosquitoes are active throughout the year and dogs in these areas need to receive monthly doses all year round. If in any doubt, please consult your veterinarian for guidance.

Give your dog the appropriate sized PROHEART tablet on, or about the same day each month. Click here to view more Proheart information.
